A third man comes forward

And a third young man comes forward, accusing homophobic megachurch preacher Eddie Long of engaging in inappropriate sexual activities with him. Yikes! Read the CNN for details.

What’s sad about this is Long appears to have taken advantage of a really confused and vulnerable kid who needed a mentor. Get background info on the two earlier lawsuits here.

Could these men be making up the allegations, as members of Long’s camp suggest? Or do you think thing more young men will come forward?

homophobia meets irony

My good friend Cindia, a GLBTQ rights advocate and really neat person, posted this Gawker link on her Facebook page. I wanted to share.

Megachurch pastor Eddie Long is no stranger to gay issues. He’s publicly denounced homosexuality on more than one occasion. Ironically, some young men are accusing Long of being a predatory sexual fiend who took advantage of them. According to a CNN article, the men are charging “he used his position as their spiritual counselor to coerce them into sexual relationships.” Visit the CNN story for links to PDFs filed by each of the men.

As of Sept. 22, the website for Long’s church, the New Birth Missionary Baptist Church, is not functioning. It could be my computer, but I have a feeling it’s out of commission for a little while.

"Who's a suspected sexual deviant? This guy!"
